HALLOWEEN IN THE HEADLIGHTS...
Hello beasties!
This time on the blog we speed on through 2020 and shoot right through October - with Halloween right there in the headlights... We've been working on our Halloween episode for a while now - but unusually for us - it's not quite ready. No matter though as we're planning a special Halloween post to be released at the end of the month. It should probably be said that along with our official Halloween episode - there are also one or two other episodes that could be said to fit in with the spooky season ahead which will be released between now and the end of the year.
As for recording in general - sadly I had to postpone a much hoped for meetup with Nick G in late September due to a mix of work, Deeley-related and general pandemic reasons. Nick and I haven't had a meet-up since early March, although we've recorded a lot on Skype and instead of meeting in September we did this again. We were, however, able to reschedule our plans and Nick popped down to see me for the day rather than me visiting him. Needless to say there are plenty of Nick episodes in the can now and I'll be releasing a couple a month - they're all on a number of different subjects, so I'm trying to spread them out so you get the different themes and not two pop music episodes back-to-back.
I've also been recording with Andrew and Lisa from Round The Archives - you've heard them on recent LIVE episodes - but there have also been recordings made for various episodes between now and episode 400. Coming up there are also two more episodes with A-Z/RTA Martin focusing on the big pop hits of 1964 and 1965. Although Toppie and I haven't gotten to record as much recently, I do still have one big episode with him to come in the next month or so - but when it gets released depends on what occurs on The Smellcast... You'll see what I mean once it's released... Anyway...

Here we are for episode 380! This time - in a change from our scheduled episode - Nick G is back to discuss with me some of the big hits of 1975 on both sides of the pond! Ikk and the gang also make themselves known and we even hear from Bettina Du Pres! This edition was recorded in early March 2020, before lock-down - the last time that I got to meet with Nick in person for many months; however just before editing took place in early October 2020 I did get a chance to meet up with Nick and Aly in Victoria Station in London for a quick coffee and so we recorded for 15 minutes or so and that recording is also included here for you!
